A bit of New Age humor: Dog Letters to God
Dear God, How come people love to smell flowers, but seldom, if ever, smell one another? Where are their priorities?
Dear God, If we come back as humans, does that mean we were good dogs or bad dogs?
Dear God, Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are, will I have to apologize to them?

How Advanced Are You Spiritually?

Excerpt from Chapter 2 - Measuring Spirituality

Have you unknowingly mired yourself in the seductive spirituality maze? Or, are you almost ready to cycle off the physical plane for good? In this chapter, I am suggesting three different ways of measuring spiritual advancement. These ways involve examination of:

Bodily measurements (blood pressure, heart rate and extremities' temperatures)

What gives satisfaction (pleasure, success, service, or freedom)

Facial expression (how wide open is the face)

Most of us have no idea where we are spiritually. There is much neurotic belief that all New Age spirituality is wonderful. What feels good is often what one pursues. If "feeling good" is the criterion, why not just pursue alcohol, heroin or crack? While feeling good is a useful factor, there are other major criteria for evaluating spiritual tools and paths. Does everything fit together and make sense? Is anything really happening psychologically and spiritually, or are the same old patterns just showing up repeatedly? Is any real human good coming from current paths? How much attachment is there to people, places, ideas, old trauma, a teacher or a favorite spiritual system? What do body measures of tension (blood pressure, heart rate and extremities' temperatures) show?
