Does God really care what you do? Consider a comparison between Hitler and Mother Teresa. If God loved Adolph Hitler and Mother Teresa all the time and equally, then there is no room for God judgments and criticisms or sadness about Hitler. God loved Hitler as much as God loves you and me. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that God does not care whether you are an axe-murderer or a saint. So, who "up there" does care?
Your Soul Cares. Think of your soul as having a small office in God's world. Your soul, as the intermediary between God and your conscious self, cares about what you do, what you say and what you think. Why? Because your soul is the guiding force that propels you through all your Earth School lessons. These lessons are required for your soul's advancement to higher planes. During a very few lifetimes, your behaviors will resemble Hitler's. During most lifetimes, you will likely try to emulate some of Mother Teresa's positive qualities.
