Winning Hands
The following is an explanation of the winning hands:
- Jacks or Better
A pair of Jacks, Queens, Kings, or Aces. For example:
3,4,8,K,K.
- 2 pair
2 pairs of cards with the same rank. For example: 3,3,8,8,9.
- 3 of a kind
A set of three cards of the same rank. For example: 5,5,5,7,8.
- Straight
For this hand, the ranks of all 5 cards must form
a series. For example: 3,4,5,6,7. An ace can be high
or low, but not both, so A,2,3,4,5 and T,J,Q,K,A are both straights,
but Q,K,A,2,3 is not.
- Flush
All 5 cards have the same suit. For example: the 2,4,6,9,A
of spades
- Full House
This hand is a combination of a pair and 3 of a kind.
3 cards of one rank and 2 cards of another rank.
For example: 2,2,2,5,5.
- 4 of a Kind
4 out of the 5 cards with the same rank. For example:
2,2,2,2,7.
- Straight Flush
A hand that's a straight and a flush, as explained above.
For example, the 2,3,4,5,6 of hearts.
- Royal Flush
This is the most difficult hand to get. It consists
of the Ten, Jack, Queen, King & Ace of the same suit.
